Clafouti or Clafoutis, I've seen this dessert spelled both ways, has a French origin. In this article from the Global Chef, Nancy Allen, she gives us an interesting history of the dish and her recipe which is very close to this one.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees Butter a deep 10-inch pie plate and arrange blueberries and ginger in the bottom of the plate and sprinkle with 1/4 cup of sugar. Pour milk into a blender and add eggs, flour, vanilla, and remaining sugar. Blend on high until mixed - 1 minute. Pour batter directly from the blender over the fruit in the plate. Bake for about 30 minutes or until lightly browned on the edges. Cut into wedges and serve. (if cut immediately, it will be messy, but the warm berries that pop in your mouth will taste lovely.
