Homemade buns:
- 3 cups flour (I use half whole wheat, and half white) - 1 teaspoon yeast - 1 teaspoon salt - 1 ½ cup lukewarm water Directions: Add the flour yeast salt and water (to make sure it is the right temperature, pour some on your wrist) into a large bowl, and cover. Let sit for at least 3 hours. Once the dough is done rising, Preheat the oven to 400o , then take out of the bowl onto a floured surface. When taking the dough out of the bowl, if you try to keep the top of the dough facing up (keeping the top smooth) the buns will turn out light, otherwise it will turn out more dense. Shape the dough into circles, and bake for 30 minutes. When out of the oven cut in half and let cool for at least 5 minutes. The dough can also be used for making hot dog buns, or really any type of bread. |
Tuna Filler:
- 1 can Tuna - 1 green onion - 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (Optional toppings can include lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, or any favorite item.) Directions: Chop the green onion and drain the can of tuna. Mix together with the mayonnaise. Add to the bun with any optionals desired. |
